Marfa Lights Festival Returns for 38th Year Aug. 29–31

The 38th annual Marfa Lights Festival will take place Labor Day weekend, from Friday, Aug. 29 through Sunday, Aug. 31, on the Presidio County Courthouse lawn.

The three-day celebration includes live music, food vendors, cold drinks, a town parade, and family-friendly activities. One of the weekend’s highlights is the return of the Sunday Night Dance, hosted at the MAC building at 101 N. Mesa Street.

Musical performances will run throughout the weekend and feature artists from across Texas and beyond. Friday’s lineup includes Zona Mutante, Prepney, The Grand Tourists, Sierra Skye and the Wild Cocks, and Baby Steps. Saturday’s performers include Grupo Asalto, La Sombra, The Tex Mex Hippies, Billy Manhattan, Jeralice, Space Cowgirl, Mariachi Santa Cruz, and Pecos River Band. Sunday will feature DJ sets by Sweetheart of the Radio, Big Stripes Tapes, and 3D Coyote, followed by live performances from Primo Y Beebe and Grupo Alturas.

Tickets for the Sunday Night Dance are $20 for individuals, $35 for couples, and $100 for a table.
