The Alpine Junior Varsity Lady Bucks volleyball team delivered a strong showing at the Wink Volleyball Tournament over the weekend, going undefeated in pool play and advancing to the JV Gold Bracket Championship match.
The team won two matches to reach the final, ultimately falling in a three-set contest to a competitive Seminole squad and securing the tournament runner-up title.
“I am extremely proud of this bunch,” Coach Virdell said. “They battled and have a no-quit attitude. They are a fun bunch to coach because they just work hard no matter what. True character is shown when adversity hits, and these girls are shining right through it. Their team chemistry is great, and we will only get better.”
The JV Lady Bucks return to regular season play later this week.
