Terlingua’s Legendary Chili Cook-Off Returns for 58th Year

The Frank X. Tolbert–Wick Fowler Original Terlingua International Championship Chili Cook-Off will return October 29 through November 1, 2025, bringing four days of chili, barbecue, music and festivities to the Big Bend.

The event’s schedule includes the World’s Championship Margarita Mix-Off, multiple chili competitions, the Bob Roberts Memorial BBQ Cook-Off, the B.E.A.N. Cook-Off, and the Jimmie Doherty Memorial Salsa Contest. Attendees can also enjoy the annual Show Team Competition, Art Fest, and Texas Author’s Tent.

Live music will be featured every night, with performances by Nathan Colt Young Band, Thomas Michael Riley, Billy King and the Bad Bad Bad, Quaker City Night Hawks, Presley Haile, Django Walker, Gary P. Nunn, West Texas Exiles, Kensie Coppin, The Moonshiners, and Los Pinche Gringos.

Proceeds support local causes, including contributions to the Terlingua School, Terlingua Fire Department, and ALS research.
