RULE Gallery in Marfa Opens ‘Deals All Day’ Featuring Works by Mo Eldridge and Matt Scobey

RULE Gallery will open Deals All Day, a two-person exhibition by artists Mo Eldridge and Matt Scobey, on Saturday, July 26. The exhibition will run through September 13, 2025, at the gallery’s Marfa location at 204 E. San Antonio St. An opening reception with both artists in attendance will take place from 6 to 9 p.m.

Deals All Day presents new paintings, photographs, and sculptures emerging from an ongoing conversation between the two friends and collaborators. The works reflect on the nature of “deals”—those we make with each other and with ourselves to navigate the everyday. The exhibition layers forms, light, and material experimentation to create an immersive experience rooted in dialogue.

Eldridge, an interdisciplinary artist and writer based in Marfa and a full-time instructor at Sul Ross State University, uses fabric and frames to construct kinetic, suspended compositions. Scobey, originally from Danville, Illinois, works with plastic and acrylic materials to form stacked, light-reactive sculptures. Both artists engage with process and form as a way to explore shifting understandings and collaborative thinking.

The exhibition will close with a sound performance using vintage kitchen timers at 11:11 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, as a prelude to the annual Sonic Rodeo, a festival co-founded by Eldridge.

Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry is free and open to the public.
