At its July meeting, the Fort Davis Independent School District Board of Trustees announced that the Fort Davis Education Foundation has raised $120,000 in donations to fund significant improvements to playground and athletic facilities at Dirks-Anderson Elementary School.

The funds are evenly split between $60,000 from more than 100 local donors and a $60,000 contribution from the King Foundation.

According to district reports, the planned upgrades include renovations to the basketball court, installation of new swing sets, construction of covered outdoor seating for classroom use, and the development of a new soccer field.
