The Native Plant Society of Texas is organizing a community workday at the Alpine Public Library on Saturday, July 26, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, to support the Manning Pollinator Garden.
Volunteers are needed to assist with clearing organic material, breaking the topsoil, mixing in amendments, and relocating buffalo grass. Participants are encouraged to bring gloves, a shovel, rake, pick, hat, and plenty of water.
Several volunteers with rototillers are also needed to help prepare the soil. Those unable to attend but willing to lend equipment are asked to get in touch.
Anyone planning to participate or lend tools should contact Tom Kennedy at tkennedy071@gmail.com.
