The burn ban in Jeff Davis County has officially been lifted, the Fort Davis Fire Department announced. While residents are now allowed to conduct controlled burns, fire officials are asking for cooperation and caution.
“If you don’t mind, please give Pat, our fire chief, a call for a heads-up if you’re burning,” the department posted. Chief Pat Olivas can be reached at 432-249-1164.
Officials noted the burn ban will likely return with the county’s first freeze later in the year. Until then, residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and safe when burning brush or debris.
