The San Vicente Independent School District will hold a public meeting on June 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the district’s Meeting Room, 195 Escuela Vista Dr., to discuss the proposed budget and tax rate for the upcoming fiscal year.
The proposed maintenance and operations tax rate is $0.7355 per $100 of property valuation. The district has no bonded debt, and the school debt service tax remains at $0.0000. This matches the rate adopted last year.
The proposed budget reflects a 12.18% increase in maintenance and operations expenditures compared to the previous year. Total appraised value of all property in the district is estimated at $11,131,706, down from $12,709,030 last year. However, the average taxable value of residences has increased from $96,637 to $109,704, raising the estimated average tax levy on a home from $710.77 to $806.87, a difference of $96.10.
The district’s maintenance and operations fund balance is projected at $1,049,730 at the end of the current fiscal year, with no funds in the Interest and Sinking Fund.
The public is encouraged to attend and participate. The meeting is required to be held before the board can adopt a tax rate, and no tax rate higher than $0.7355 can be adopted without voter approval.
