Brewster County deputies arrested an Austin man Saturday afternoon following an incident during a demonstration near the county courthouse.
According to the Brewster County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducting surveillance in connection with a “No Kings” protest observed an individual strike a passing vehicle with a flagpole. Authorities said the impact cracked the windshield and struck a passenger.
The suspect, identified as Craig Andrew Ryan Campbell of Austin, was taken into custody at the scene. He was later booked into the Brewster County Jail on charges of assault causing bodily injury and criminal mischief.
No further details have been released. The investigation is ongoing.
