Alpine Public Library to Host Community Tree Planting for Pollinator Garden on May 17

Volunteers are invited to take part in a community tree planting event at the Alpine Public Library on Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to noon, as part of the ongoing development of the Patty Manning Pollinator Garden.

The event will feature guidance from Jim Martinez of Marfa Gardens, a native plant expert and landscape design consultant, who will teach participants the basics of planting native trees.

Organizers encourage community members to help create a space that will provide educational and recreational benefits for children and adults alike. Volunteers are advised to bring water, sunscreen, a hat, and work gloves. Tools such as shovels, picks, rakes, and sharp shooter shovels are welcome but not required.
