Alpine High School has named Coach Cory Cason as the new girls’ coordinator for the Lady Bucks athletics program.

Cason, who has lived in Alpine for 17 years, brings nearly two decades of teaching and coaching experience to the role. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from Texas Tech University and a Master of Fine Arts in studio art from Colorado State University. She currently teaches world history at Alpine High School, where she has taught for the past seven years.

Since 2018, Cason has coached both boys and girls cross country programs at the middle and high school levels, guiding teams to nine state championship appearances. She has served as head high school girls track coach since 2020 and middle school girls track coach since 2023, leading the Lady Bucks to five consecutive varsity district and area titles, multiple middle school district championships, and two state-level track and field appearances.

In addition to her coaching and teaching responsibilities, Cason designs the seasonal cross country and track and field team shirts each year.

Cason lives in Alpine with her husband, Sam, and their son, Hatfield, a graduating senior headed to Rice University this fall.
