Authorities have increased security measures in the municipality of Aldama following the discovery of graffiti referencing a criminal cartel on the perimeter wall of a residence. The incident has prompted a coordinated response from the State Police, the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), the National Guard, and the State Investigations Agency.
Luis Ángel Aguirre, Deputy Chief of Staff, announced today that operations are underway in collaboration with the municipal government of Aldama. He confirmed that markings were found on two homes referencing organized crime, raising concerns about potential cartel activity in the area.
In response, a base of operations has been established in the region to strengthen perimeter patrols and maintain control in affected neighborhoods. Authorities are conducting frequent vehicle checks and identity verifications to locate individuals with outstanding warrants and to detect stolen vehicles.
The heightened presence of law enforcement is aimed at preventing any violent incidents stemming from possible rivalries between criminal groups and to ensure the graffiti does not escalate into more serious threats to public safety.
Aldama is located approximately 35 kilometers (22 miles) northeast of Chihuahua City and roughly 320 kilometers (200 miles) from Ojinaga, a key border town along the Texas-Chihuahua corridor. The increased security presence is part of broader efforts to maintain peace in northern Chihuahua amid ongoing concerns over cartel-related violence.
