Quick action and teamwork led to the rescue of two injured civilians over the weekend deep along River Road in Big Bend National Park.
According to the U.S. Border Patrol Big Bend Sector, Department of Defense soldiers on UTV patrol spotted the injured individuals and quickly coordinated assistance. Agents from the U.S. Border Patrol and personnel from the National Park Service responded rapidly to the scene.
Officials credited the successful rescue to strong coordination among agencies operating in the remote terrain of the park.
