High-Powered Arsenal and Vehicles Seized During Major Operation in Aldama

State and federal law enforcement agencies seized military-style weapons, ammunition, explosives, and multiple vehicles during a major overnight operation in Aldama, located approximately 90 miles west of Ojinaga.

The operation began around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, following a call to the 911 emergency line and activity detected by the state’s surveillance camera network. Officers with the State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE), working in coordination with the Mexican military (SEDENA), the Chihuahua Municipal Police (DSPM), and the State Investigations Agency (AEI), responded to the area and discovered one person deceased at the scene, prompting a wide-scale security deployment.

During the operation along the Aldama–Ojinaga highway, authorities seized:

  • Eight AK-47 rifles
  • One unregistered rifle
  • One AR-15 barrel
  • 4,847 rounds of 7.62×39mm ammunition
  • 728 rounds of 5.56×45mm ammunition (linked in belts)
  • 58 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition
  • Four improvised explosives intended for use with drones

Five vehicles were also recovered, including:

  • A burned Ford Super Duty pickup
  • Two Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD trucks
  • A Nissan Infiniti with bullet damage
  • A civilian vehicle with ballistic damage

One of the trucks was towing a livestock trailer filled with food supplies. Several of the seized vehicles featured improvised armor plating, suggesting likely use by criminal groups. The serial numbers of the weapons and vehicles have been submitted to federal authorities for tracking and investigation.

All recovered evidence is now in the custody of the Chihuahua State Attorney General’s Office for further analysis.
