As summer nears, Big Bend National Park is accepting applications for volunteer campground host positions at the Rio Grande Village Campground.
Volunteers commit to 32 hours per week and receive free housing and utilities in return. Housing options include either an apartment or an RV site. The role combines duties in an air-conditioned visitor center with roving responsibilities throughout the campground.
Two volunteer periods are currently open:
May 1 to July 31, 2025
August 1 to October 31, 2025
Interested individuals or couples can apply through Volunteer.gov. The park also encourages applicants to explore additional volunteer opportunities listed on the site.
