Efforts are underway to clean up the site at 109–115 West Holland Avenue in Alpine, nearly a year after a fire destroyed several businesses in May 2024. The property has remained fenced off since the incident and recently received hazardous building violations from the city.
According to reporting by The Big Bend Sentinel, property owner Bill Ivey declined an offer from the City of Alpine in favor of another buyer with local ties. The sale is still being finalized. Ivey and the new owner are coordinating the cleanup, which was delayed by asbestos inspection requirements. City officials confirmed Ivey is actively working with building services to remove debris.
