Hotel Saint George and its restaurant LaVenture have announced the arrival of Executive Chef Carlos Suarez, marking a new chapter for the dining establishment in the Big Bend region.
Suarez, a native of Paraguay, joins the team with more than eleven years of experience in the culinary industry. His background spans several countries and a variety of kitchens, with a focus on innovative and flavor-forward cuisine.
At age 19, Suarez moved to Sydney, Australia, where he began refining his craft. Over the next decade, he worked alongside chefs around the world, developing a diverse skill set and a deep appreciation for both simple and sophisticated cooking styles.
“My cooking for me centers on care and attention, akin to family. Food fosters connections, memories, and unforgettable experiences,” Suarez said.
LaVenture, located inside Hotel Saint George, is open daily from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Guests are invited to try the new menu and meet the chef. Reservations can be made through Resy.com or by calling 432-729-3700.
