Tourism Booming in Brewster County as Spring Break Crowds Fill Hotels

Brewster County Tourism Council Director Robert Alvarez reported March hotel occupancy near 90% due to spring break travel. Efforts to assist visitors by contacting over 100 hotels revealed only three vacancies, confirming the county’s tourism boom. Judge Greg Henington suggested exploring ways to gain official “Tourism Friendly” recognition, despite the challenge posed by Terlingua’s unincorporated status.
