Sonic Drive-In held a grand re-opening ribbon cutting on Monday, March 24, 2025, at its newly rebuilt location at 1701 W. Dickinson Blvd., marking a fresh chapter for a business with deep roots in the community.
Travis and Tommie Lewis first opened a Sonic Drive-In in Fort Stockton in 1976. Now, nearly 50 years later, the tradition continues with their grandson, Caleb Jantz, managing the updated drive-in alongside a dedicated crew.
The re-opening celebration brought together members of the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Ambassadors, and the Chamber Board of Directors, who presented an official membership plaque to Travis and Tommie Lewis, Caleb Jantz, and Tom Clifton. City of Fort Stockton officials, Pecos County State Bank representatives, and Fort Stockton ISD staff also attended the event.
Guests were treated to a spread of Sonic favorites, including drinks, jalapeño poppers, mozzarella sticks, chicken strips, and ice cream.
The new drive-in officially opened to the public on Tuesday, March 25.
