The outfield wall at Kokernot Field is getting a major upgrade, thanks to a collaborative effort involving Alpine ISD, local businesses, and city support.
Alpine ISD shared progress photos showing the transformation, with the left side of the image displaying the wall before the repaint and the right side revealing the fresh coat of paint. Touch-ups and a top yellow stripe are still to come.
The project was made possible in part by a donation of 50 gallons of paint from Mr. Bob Ward and True Value. The initiative is tied to the 06 Cowboys’ sublease from a previous season.
Additional paint and project costs are being covered by a Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund grant awarded to Alpine ISD by the City of Alpine.
The district expressed pride in the improvements, which benefit all three teams that call Kokernot Field home.
