The Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute held its first-ever seed swap last month, bringing together community members to share and collect native plant seeds.
The event featured 30 species of native seeds and marked a new initiative to promote native gardening and ecological awareness in the region. Those who missed the event had an opportunity to pick up free seeds at the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center in the days that followed, while supplies lasted.
