Fort Davis Students Advance to Texas History Day with Award-Winning Projects

Fort Davis students took top honors at the Big Bend Regional History Fair held Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Sul Ross State University, earning spots at the upcoming Texas History Day competition.

In the senior division, Nubia Nunez and Elsa Damm won first place and received the Black History Award for their group exhibit on Loving v. Virginia. In the junior division, Abbey Corbin, Miranda Hernandez, Adelyn Lopez, and Eramin Ramos took first place for their group performance focused on the Statue of Liberty.

Both teams will move on to compete at the state level during Texas History Day, scheduled for April 5 at the University of Texas at Austin.
