A Monahans Police Department officer was arrested on March 18, 2025, following a criminal investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division and the Texas Rangers.
The officer, Benjamin McGilvray, was taken into custody on a charge of Online Solicitation of a Minor, a third-degree felony under Texas Penal Code 33.021.
The Monahans Police Department is working jointly with DPS CID and the Texas Rangers in the ongoing investigation. McGilvray has been placed on administrative leave, and officials stated that additional charges are pending.
