Hanson Sisters Represent Alpine with Strong Performances at Houston Livestock Show

Meagan and Madison Hanson earned recognition for their outstanding achievements at the Houston Livestock Show, representing their community with distinction in both livestock and public speaking competitions.

Meagan Hanson took first place in the Red Brangus Junior Breeding Heifer Show with her heifer, Cox Dreams Hombre 21L, also known as Miss July. The win adds to the heifer’s successful show record, which includes Reserve Supreme Champion at PCLS and first-place finishes in both San Angelo and San Antonio. Meagan also participated in the calf scramble, where she caught a calf and earned a $2,000 prize toward purchasing a heifer or steer for the next season.

Madison Hanson competed in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 4-H & FFA Agricultural Public Speaking Contest, placing 15th among top young speakers from across Texas. Her performance highlighted her communication skills and preparation in one of the show’s most competitive categories.

Both students demonstrated hard work and commitment, bringing pride to their school and community.
