Terlingua High School Students Explore Hydroponic Farming with Flex Farm

Students in Mr. Flori’s Biology class at Terlingua High School had their first hands-on experience with the Flex Farm hydroponic system, planting lettuce seeds and learning to balance water pH and nutrient levels.

This marks Terlingua CSD’s second year growing hydroponic lettuce, a project previously managed by elementary students. Now, the Flex Farm is being shared among teachers interested in incorporating hydroponics into their curriculum.

The initiative provides students with a practical understanding of sustainable agriculture and food production, aligning with ongoing conservation and environmental education efforts.
