Visit Alpine is out of town this week, participating in the Texas Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus (TACVB) Winter Conference in Waco. The annual event brings together professionals in the travel and tourism industry to share insights, foster connections, and enhance skills through hands-on workshops and educational sessions.
Attendees were greeted by snow flurries upon their arrival, a stark contrast to the colder temperatures currently experienced in Alpine. This year’s conference, held at the AC Hotel in downtown Waco, includes Master Classes in Advocacy, Marketing, and Sales, as well as a newly introduced half-day Data Workshop designed for Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) professionals.
The Data Workshop offers practical guidance on using analytics to improve destination marketing efforts, manage research budgets, and explore data products and services. It is part of a broader effort by TACVB to equip members with actionable strategies to strengthen their organizations.
Other highlights of the Winter Conference include interactive workshops on relationship building, leveraging community strengths, and aligning marketing efforts with customer needs. The agenda also features panel discussions on topics such as room night tracking and group sales incentives, aimed at helping participants refine their approaches to key challenges in the industry.
Visit Alpine joins professionals from across the state in this collaborative setting to exchange ideas and strategies, ensuring that the region remains competitive and well-represented in the tourism sector. The conference concludes on January 23 with facilitated discussions and additional opportunities for networking.
