From 1984 to 2000, she ran the Big Bend Locker Plant & Smokehouse, a local favorite for meat processing and smoked goods. Today, she owns Front Street Books, a beloved independent bookstore in Alpine, often touted as the best indie bookstore west of the Pecos.
The film, Ten in Texas, highlights the resolve of West Texas women who come together to aid their neighbors in Boquillas, Mexico, during a time of crisis.
