The Texas Division of Emergency Management has provided the Terrell County Sheriff’s Office with a shipment of Naloxone (Narcan), a critical medication used to reverse opioid overdoses.
Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland announced that the newly arrived supply will be shared with local schools and made available to other entities in need. Cleveland also extended an offer to neighboring communities, encouraging them to reach out if additional supplies are required.
“The fight against fentanyl is real,” Cleveland said, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the growing impact of opioid-related incidents.
This allocation is part of a state initiative to equip local governments with resources to tackle the ongoing opioid epidemic. For rural areas like Terrell County, state-provided resources are vital in supporting public health and safety.
Sheriff Cleveland expressed gratitude to the Texas Division of Emergency Management for its continued support, highlighting the importance of state and local collaboration.
