Marfa Live Arts Inspires Creativity with Annual Playwriting Prep Program

This week, Marfa Live Arts returns to Marfa Junior High for the 9th Annual Playwriting Preparatory Program. Led by Rachel Tate, the workshop is being conducted during Jaylia Foster’s English classes to teach students the art of crafting monologues. The program is designed to help students express their inner voices through dramatic storytelling.

Selected student works will be performed at the Winter Showcase Theater in February, featuring local actors at Planet Marfa. This marks Tate’s third year leading the program, which Foster praises for its ability to engage students creatively, offering a break from routine while encouraging self-expression.
