On January 4th, U.S. Border Patrol agents in El Paso, Texas, apprehended Julio Ramos, a Guatemalan national and convicted sex offender. Record checks revealed a 2005 conviction in Nebraska for first-degree forcible sexual assault, a crime for which Ramos served a 6–8-year prison sentence.
Following his arrest, Border Patrol agents are now presenting Ramos for prosecution. Once legal proceedings are complete, he will be removed from the United States, ensuring that individuals with serious criminal histories like his remain out of our communities.
This arrest underscores the ongoing efforts of Border Patrol agents to protect public safety and uphold the integrity of U.S. borders.
