The 2025 Reeves County Junior Livestock Show & Sale is coming to the Reeves County Civic Center (1500 S Cedar St, Pecos, TX 79772), promising a weekend packed with tradition, excitement, and community pride. This annual event celebrates the hard work and dedication of local youth involved in 4-H and FFA, while offering fun and engagement for attendees of all ages.
Schedule of Events
- Thursday, January 16, 2025:
- 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Livestock weigh-ins at the Reeves County Civic Center, setting the stage for the competitive shows.
- Friday, January 17, 2025:
- 2:00 PM: The Cattle, Lamb, and Goat Show kicks off, featuring the next generation of ranchers showcasing their skills and dedication.
- Saturday, January 18, 2025:
- 8:30 AM: The Hog Show begins, leading into the Champion Round Robin Showmanship Title contest. Top junior and senior showmen will compete by handling a lamb, goat, and hog they’ve never worked with before, a true test of adaptability and expertise.
- 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Cake Contest – Submit homemade cakes for a chance to win cash prizes, with the winner announced during the evening sale.
- 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Enjoy a delicious Fish Fry, sponsored by Box E Energy. Plates are $12 and include fried catfish, fries, hushpuppies, a drink, and cake.
- 7:00 PM: The Livestock Show Sale closes out the event. Bid on exceptional animals raised by local youth, supporting their hard work and future agricultural endeavors.
