Fort Stockton Teachers Lead the Way in Peer-Led Professional Development

In a vibrant display of collaborative learning, Fort Stockton High School hosted a professional development day where teachers stepped into the role of instructors to share their expertise with colleagues. The event, held today at FSHS, featured a series of workshops led by the teachers themselves, covering a range of innovative educational topics.

Sessions included “Recording Lessons in Sibme,” aimed at enhancing remote learning experiences; “Be the Administrator of Your Classroom,” which focused on classroom management techniques; “Lesson Plans and Pacing Guides,” for structuring effective classroom learning; and “Collecting and Using Data for Student Success,” which emphasized data-driven strategies to boost student achievement.

The format allowed teachers to choose which sessions to attend, leading to high engagement and attendance across the board. This peer-led approach not only fostered a sense of community among the staff but also highlighted the diverse skills and knowledge present within the Fort Stockton teaching team.

Gratitude was the theme of the day, with organizers and participants alike expressing appreciation for the dedication and innovation of their peers. This event underscores Fort Stockton High School’s commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth in education.
