A groundbreaking initiative is set to transform Culberson County with the introduction of a new Performing Arts Center and Recreation Park. Located at 200 Austin Street, the project boasts an ambitious completion date of December 1, 2025, and an estimated cost of $20 million. This development promises to enhance the cultural and recreational landscape of Van Horn and its surroundings.
Root Architects, the design firm based at 311 Montana Avenue #A2 in El Paso, Texas, has undertaken the architectural responsibilities for the project. The new facilities will include a state-of-the-art amphitheater, sports courts, a splash pad, and a playground, sprawling over 261,000 square feet of renovated space.
Funded by public resources and situated on public land, the project is a significant investment in community infrastructure. Julie Gereda of Julie Ericson Gereda, RAS, will oversee compliance and accessibility standards for the project, ensuring that the new construction meets all required specifications.
