Texas Parks and Wildlife Seeks Accounting Technician for Night Audit at Davis Mountains State Park

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Accounting Technician I (Night Audit) at Davis Mountains State Park, located in Fort Davis, Texas. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the management and conservation of Texas’ natural and cultural resources while ensuring the smooth operation of the park’s financial transactions during night shifts.

The primary responsibilities of this position include the daily reconciliation and auditing of revenue collections and procedures at Indian Lodge and Black Bear Restaurant. Additional duties encompass handling gift shop sales, stocking inventory, assisting with visitor inquiries, taking reservations, and checking guests in and out of the lodge. The successful candidate will also perform light housekeeping duties and help secure areas around the lodge and grounds.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and have at least one year of experience in general clerical work, customer service, front desk reception, or cash handling. A valid state driver’s license is required within 30 days of employment. Knowledge of general office procedures, basic mathematics, and generally accepted accounting principles is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with strong communication and customer service skills, is also necessary.

This position requires working various schedules, including shifts outside of the standard 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. workday and on days other than Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The role may involve manual labor, such as lifting supplies up to 20 lbs, and adherence to TPWD’s safety programs and work rules is mandatory.
