Alpine Fire Department (AFD) personnel responded promptly to a house fire near the 2400 block of West US 90 around 7 p.m. last evening. Thanks to their swift action, the fire was quickly brought under control, preventing further damage to the residence.
Upon arrival, fire crews managed to knock down the flames effectively. All occupants of the home were accounted for and found to be safe. The operation led to a temporary closure of West US 90, primarily due to the positioning of fire hydrants used during the response.
The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation by authorities. Alpine Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Alpine Police, Brewster County Sheriff’s Office, and Texas Department of Transportation (TXDot), who provided crucial support in managing the incident and traffic flow.
