In Friday night’s matchup at the Pete P. Gallego Center, Deon Brown scored 20 points for the Sul Ross State Lobo men’s basketball team, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win against the St. Mary’s Rattlers, who dominated the game with a final score of 89-45. Early in the game, St. Mary’s set the pace with a quick 10-point lead and maintained their momentum throughout, extending their lead to 20 points by halftime and finishing strong with a 50-point lead near the end. The Lobos struggled against St. Mary’s aggressive play, which included a 38-24 rebound advantage. Sul Ross State’s next game is against Western New Mexico on November 23 at 3 p.m. CST.
