Brewster County showed a notable increase in population. From the 2020 Census count of 9,546 residents, the area grew to 9,878 by the start of 2024, marking a 3.5% rise. This growth translates to an influx of 332 people over four years, signaling a positive demographic trend for the county.
Conversely, Presidio and Jeff Davis Counties experienced population decreases during the same period. Presidio County’s population declined by 3.3%, falling from 6,131 residents in 2020 to 5,929 in 2024, which equates to 202 fewer residents. Jeff Davis County faced a more pronounced decline of 8.9%, reducing its population from 1,996 to 1,818, a decrease of 178 people.
