Jeff Davis County Welcomes Return of Harvest Bowl to Combat Hunger

After a hiatus of four years, the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County is set to revive the Harvest Bowl, a cherished annual community event. Scheduled for November 16 from 5 pm to 7 pm, this event will take place at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish Hall in Fort Davis.

The Harvest Bowl is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a community gathering that offers an opportunity for residents to reconnect and share a meal in support of a noble cause. Attendees will be treated to an array of 12 different homemade soups crafted by local community members. The diverse menu includes options like Russian Mushroom Potato, Elk Stew, Green Chili Stew, and Italian Wedding Soup, among others.

Each ticket, priced at $20, grants access to a choice of three soups, along with salad, bread, dessert, non-alcoholic beverages, and two alcoholic drink tickets valid for beer or wine. The evening will also feature live performances by guitarist Stephen Bright & Friends, door prizes, and a warm, family-friendly environment.

Vicki Gibson, Executive Director of the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County, expressed her enthusiasm about the event’s return. “After four years, we’re thrilled to bring back this popular event. Harvest Bowl isn’t just a fundraiser. It’s a chance for the community to come together and share a meal while supporting a good cause,” she stated.

Tickets for the Harvest Bowl can be purchased at the door or online at http://www.foodpantry-jdc.org/events. All proceeds will directly support the pantry’s critical mission to provide nutritious food to those in need across Jeff Davis County. Individuals interested in volunteering at the event are encouraged to contact Vicki Gibson at (432) 279-1228.
