Brewster County Deputies and First Responders Hold Safety Demonstration at Alpine Middle School

Brewster County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with local and federal agencies, conducted a public safety demonstration at Alpine Middle School. The event featured personnel from the Alpine Police Department, United States Border Patrol, Texas Department of Public Safety, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Alpine Volunteer Fire Department.

Students had the opportunity to witness K9 demonstrations and explore various technologies and equipment used by these agencies to ensure both officer and community safety. One of the highlights was Brewster County’s K9 Latek, who successfully apprehended a role-playing “violent felon” in the school’s gym, showcasing the skills and training of law enforcement animals.

This educational event provided students with a firsthand look at the collaborative efforts and advanced tools that local and federal authorities use to maintain safety in their community.
