Brewster County Sheriff: Early Monday morning, the Brewster County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call threatening the safety of the “Big Bend Hospital and all law enforcement.” The information was relayed to Big Bend Regional Medical Center, and appropriate safety measures were put in place, including multiple deputies securing the facility.
The caller was identified as Lawrence Foy, of Terlingua Ranch. Warrants were obtained for the arrest of Foy. Brewster County Deputies responded to his residence, where Foy briefly barricaded himself on the property, but was eventually safely taken into custody. No one was injured during the incident.
Foy was booked into the Brewster County Jail for terroristic threat (3rd Degree Felony) and silent or abusive calls to 911 service (class B misdemeanor).
