Get Ready for the Annual Marathon to Marathon Race in Marathon, Texas

The Marathon to Marathon (M2M) race, a cherished event in Marathon, Texas, is set for October 26, 2024. This annual race not only challenges participants with its varied distances but also celebrates the community spirit with a host of activities planned around the event.

Event Details and Registration: Participants can choose from four race distances: the full marathon priced at $115, requiring a headlamp and reflective clothing as it starts in the dark; the half marathon at $90; the 10K for $60; and the 5K at $50. Each registration includes a finishing medal, an M2M shirt, and transportation to the race start from Marathon. However, registrations after October 1st are not guaranteed a medal and shirt. The deadlines for registration are October 1st with a $10 late fee, and October 25th with a $20 late fee, the latter being the final chance to register. There will be no registrations on the day of the race.

Packet Pick-Up and Pasta Dinner: Race packets can be picked up on October 25th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Community Center in Marathon. For those unable to attend, packets can be picked up post-race. The evening also offers a Pasta Dinner at the Community Center from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM for $15 per person, with gluten-free and vegetarian options available. Another free dinner will be hosted by the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

Race Day Highlights: Post-race festivities include a fundraiser lunch available from 11:00 AM to 1:45 PM at the finish line, featuring BBQ, smoked meats, a unique elote bar, and free beer for $20 per plate. Participants can also enjoy post-race massages available at the finish line. The awards ceremony will start at 1:15 PM, celebrating winners across various categories.

Additional Activities: The Marathon Motel will host a Star Party from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM on the night of the race and the following night, inviting participants to bring their own telescopes for stargazing sessions.
