Trappings of Texas Comes to Fort Davis with Exclusive Ranch Roundup Party at The High Frontier

This year’s Trappings of Texas event will culminate in a special Ranch Roundup Party on Saturday, September 14, bringing the celebrated Western art and cowboy gear exhibition to Fort Davis for the first time. Set from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the stunning High Frontier venue, the exclusive gathering promises to be a memorable evening for attendees, with tickets priced at $150 per person.

The Ranch Roundup Party serves as the grand finale to the 38th Annual Trappings of Texas exhibit, which has been showcasing Western art and cowboy craftsmanship for over 35 years at the Museum of the Big Bend in Alpine. By expanding the festivities to Fort Davis, the event now includes a wider audience while spotlighting one of the region’s most luxurious and secluded venues.

Nestled across 320 private acres of the Far West Texas desert, The High Frontier offers a spectacular setting for the evening’s festivities. Surrounded by the scenic Davis Mountains, this event venue is renowned for its elegant cabin-style accommodations, breathtaking views, and upscale amenities. Though its restaurant is slated to open in 2025, guests at the Ranch Roundup Party will experience the venue’s unique blend of rustic charm and modern sophistication, with live music, a curated menu, and the opportunity to mingle with artists featured in the Trappings of Texas exhibit.

The High Frontier, developed by the team behind Marfa’s acclaimed Hotel Saint George, has already established itself as a sought-after destination for private events, and the Ranch Roundup Party marks one of the venue’s most anticipated gatherings of the year. The event also symbolizes the growing connection between Alpine and Fort Davis, two towns deeply rooted in the ranching culture of the Big Bend region.

Attendees will have the chance to further explore The High Frontier’s beautiful surroundings, with leisure opportunities including scenic hikes and stargazing amidst the rugged desert landscape. The venue’s serene environment is designed to offer both relaxation and inspiration, making it a fitting backdrop for the close of Trappings of Texas.
