Sul Ross State University is set to gain significant exposure and resources as part of the Lone Star Conference’s (LSC) new five-year exclusive media rights agreement with FloSports, announced this week. The partnership, which begins this fall, represents the largest media rights deal in NCAA Division II history, providing a robust platform for LSC athletic events, including those featuring Sul Ross State.
The agreement will enable FloSports to live stream more than 1,500 regular season and postseason events across the LSC’s 17 member institutions, which span Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Sul Ross State, along with other LSC schools, will benefit from this global platform, which includes a comprehensive content engine designed to support teams, universities, and student-athletes.
“We are thrilled to partner with FloSports on the largest media rights deal in NCAA Division II history,” said LSC Commissioner Jay Poerner. “The increased revenue will directly benefit our athletic departments and provide a strong foundation for continued growth and innovation.”
The partnership marks a significant milestone for the LSC, which boasts 81 NCAA team national championships since its founding in 1931. As part of FloCollege, a new platform launching in October, the LSC will join 11 other conferences in delivering nearly 12,000 live games during the 2024-25 season. This will include coverage of football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, and soccer, with events available for live and on-demand viewing.
FloSports’ investment in the LSC is expected to enhance broadcast production standards across all sports, ensuring parity and inclusivity while supporting the overall growth of athletic programs at member institutions like Sul Ross State. The platform will also offer original content, including social media programming, that highlights the achievements of LSC student-athletes.
FloSports will offer both yearly and monthly subscription options, with additional discounts available for users with a .edu email address. Revenue generated from this partnership will be reinvested directly into LSC member institutions, providing much-needed resources for their athletic departments.
As Sul Ross State continues to solidify its presence in NCAA Division II, this partnership with FloSports positions the university to expand its audience and increase visibility for its athletic programs. For more information on how to subscribe, visit the LSC’s FloSports homepage.
The launch of FloCollege, which will include an updated FloSports app for connected TVs and streaming devices, is set to provide fans with an enhanced viewing experience this fall. As part of the deal, FloSports plans to invest over $50 million into supporting rights fees, production, content, technology, and marketing, further bolstering the capabilities of LSC member schools.
This historic partnership is poised to elevate the coverage and reach of Sul Ross State’s athletic programs, bringing the excitement of Lobo sports to a broader audience across the state and beyond.
