Cycling enthusiasts, mark your calendars for October 19, 2024, as the MARFA100 event returns, promising exciting race options and a vibrant community atmosphere. This event offers something for every cyclist, from a challenging 100K race to a fun 50K ride and a flexible virtual ride option.
The 100K race includes chip timing with a “gun start,” an event T-shirt, and tickets for lunch and a beer at the post-race party. Participants will enjoy fully stocked aid stations along the course, which features an out-and-back route with a turn-around at mile 31 and a total elevation gain of approximately 2,800 feet. Age category winners will receive awards, and overall winners in male, female, non-binary, and paracycling categories will be honored with a custom Marfa100 winners jersey.
For those looking for a less intense experience, the 50K fun-ride offers a leisurely pace with a turn-around at mile 15. Participants will receive an event T-shirt, and tickets for lunch and a beer at the after-ride party, along with access to fully stocked aid stations. E-bikes and other alternative person-powered modes of transportation are welcome in this event.
The virtual ride option allows participants to complete the 100K from anywhere, with the flexibility to break the ride into segments. However, to be eligible for awards, the full 100K must be ridden in one go, and e-bike rides are not eligible for awards. Virtual participants will also receive an event T-shirt, mailed to them.
Tri-county residents are eligible for a local rider discount and can email marfa100k@gmail.com for more details. Paracyclists interested in competing can also reach out via email to participate in any event.
Don’t miss the chance to be part of the MARFA100 experience, whether you’re riding in Marfa or from the comfort of your hometown. For more information and to sign up, visit MARFA100.
