Friday afternoon, following a lengthy investigation into multiple brush fires in the area, Alpine volunteer firefighter David Matthew Neet was taken into custody. During the course of the fire investigations, several incendiary devices were located.
An arrest warrant was issued, charging Neet with arson, a second-degree felony. Sheriff Dodson commended Deputy Hector Holguin for his hard work and dedication to this investigation. Additionally, the sheriff expressed gratitude to the Texas A&M Forest Service investigators for their assistance.
