In a recent announcement on its Facebook page, Alpine Independent School District (ISD) shared exciting news regarding a significant investment. At a meeting on June 27, the Alpine ISD Board of Trustees accepted a $575,000 donation from the Prentice Farrar Brown and Alline Ford Brown Foundation. This historic contribution will fund a range of capital improvement projects benefiting students and staff across the district.
The donation, coordinated by the Permian Basin Area Foundation, will support 17 projects designed to enhance educational facilities and resources. Key initiatives include:
- Teacher of the Month program
- Staff Member of the Month program
- Promethean Boards for every elective classroom at Alpine Elementary School (AES)
- Retrofitting the Alpine Middle School (AMS) marquee for better community communication
- A new kiln for Alpine High School (AHS) art classes
- Grow Your Own Teacher Certification Program for paraprofessionals
- The Fightin’ Buck Teacher Project Fund, providing classroom grants of $100-$300
- Promethean Boards for every elective classroom at AMS
- A new shade cover structure for the playground at the Alpine Child Development Center
- A new etching press for AHS art classes
- School supplies for all Alpine ISD students for the 2024-25 school year
- Interior digital signage at AES for announcements and messages
- Interior digital signage at AMS
- A 3D laser printer/engraver at AHS
- Retrofitting the AES marquee
- New playgrounds for PK, K-2, and 3rd-4th grade students at AES
- A new activity-based playground at AMS for 5th and 6th graders
