Rep. Eddie Morales Commends Fort Davis’s “Smoke in the Mountains” BBQ Event for Supporting First Responders

Representative Eddie Morales recently praised the “Smoke in the Mountains BBQ & Ribeye Shootout” during a resolution presented at the Jeff Davis County Commissioners Court. The annual event, set for June 7–8, 2024, in Fort Davis, Texas, supports local volunteer fire departments and EMS through a community-focused barbecue competition.

This year’s contest will see 60 teams battling it out over chicken, ribs, brisket, and more, with additional contests for steak, salsa, desserts, and margaritas. The event not only boosts community spirit but also provides essential support for the first responders of Jeff Davis County and surrounding areas.
