Presidio PD Initiates Felony Stop, Fort Stockton Fugitive Flees on Foot to Mexico

On February 26, 2024, an officer from Presidio PD initiated a felony stop in reference to a stolen vehicle at the Frontier Travel Center.

The officer instructed the driver to show hands, to which the driver refused to comply and drove away.

The Presidio officer then initiated a high-speed pursuit topping 92 mph.

The suspect turned onto FM 170 west, exited rye vehicle near a lot owned by the International Water Boundary Commissions, hopped the gate, and continued on foot.

The Presidio PD Officer chased the individual on foot for about 17 minutes. Presidio County Sheriff’s Office, Presidio U.S. Border Patrol, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection assisted in tracking the individual on foot where he was observed crossing the rive into Mexican territory.

The individual was later identified as Ivan Ramos Hernandez out of Ft. Stockton.

A search of the car was conducted, finding the keys of 6 different vehicles and Personal protected identifications inside the suspect’s wallet along with the suspect’s ID.

Suspect is now wanted for additional charges of evading arrest and detention. He is considered armed and dangerous. Call 911 if you have any information for authorities.
