Lobos Softball Secures Decisive 11-3 Win Over Austin College

In a standout performance, the Sul Ross State University Lobos softball team delivered a decisive 11-3 victory against the Austin College Kangaroos on Sunday morning. This compelling win, achieved in just six innings at the Lobo Softball Field, exemplified the Lobos’ offensive strength and strategic prowess in the game.

Kicking off with an early lead by Austin College, the Lobos swiftly turned the game in their favor. A smart play involving Lily Wiser and Samantha Chavez tied the score, setting the stage for a powerful first inning. The Lobos amassed six runs, leveraging Austin College’s defensive errors and showcasing their batting depth with hits from Ciera Avila and Kyndell Garcia, among others.

The game’s momentum remained with the Lobos as they extended their lead in the second inning through Jaelyn Zuniga’s RBI single. Although the Kangaroos managed to narrow the lead in the third, Sul Ross State’s formidable six-inning rally, highlighted by Chavez’s score on an error and Elizabeth Clemente’s clutch two RBI pinch-hit, sealed their triumphant win.
