Presidio Independent School District’s welding team achieved a significant milestone by securing second place at the third annual Sun City Welding Academy Texas High School Welding Series Build Off, held in El Paso on Friday, Feb. 16. This notable accomplishment has qualified the team to compete at the state level.


The competition, which saw participation from several high school welding teams across West Texas and New Mexico, was a testament to the skills and dedication of young welders in the region. A total of 18 high schools were represented at the event, each vying for top honors in a series of welding challenges designed to test their technical abilities and creativity.
